Dr. Joseph Beckwith
Dr. Joseph Beckwith
Assistant Professor

Joe obtained his PhD in 2019 from the University of Geneva, working with Eric Vauthey on ultrafast spectroscopy of molecular charge transfer systems. He then moved to Princeton as a Swiss National Science Foundation Early Postdoctoral Fellow (2020–2022), developing single-particle spectroscopies to study complex systems. From 2022 to 2026 he worked in the Steven F. Lee lab at Cambridge (PDRA 2022–2024, SRA 2024–2025, Assistant Research Professor 2025–2026), where he built and applied single-molecule tools to study early events in Parkinson's Disease as part of the Aligning Science Against Parkinson's (ASAP) consortium. Alongside his research, Joe is passionate about equity and inclusion in chemistry, and co-founded Queer in Chemistry Networks at both Cambridge and Princeton.
