Overview

Many of these processes are currently technologically challenging to observe in both the biological and nanotechnological world, and thus remain poorly understood. We develop spectroscopic tools to understand them.

Approach

Our research spans ultrafast, steady-state and single-particle spectroscopies—with a key focus on the single-particle. Development of these techniques encompasses two key aspects: experimental, where we develop new optical tools; and analytical, where we apply statistics, information theory and chemical kinetics to understand our spectroscopic measurements.
